Three persons have been arrested with 10.23 grams of chitta (heroin) in Theog subdivision in Shimla district, police said here today.

The accused have been identified as Ankush Kumar, a resident of Ramtari village in Rohru Sub division, Shimla, Rishabh Negi, a resident of Rohru and Lucky Thakur, a resident of Parsa village in Theog, Shimla.

According to police, the accused were arrested from Balag village, around 27 kilometres away from Theog. They were sitting inside a car (HP 10 1414) that was parked on the roadside when a police team that was patrolling there noticed them. On suspicion, police proceeded to check their vehicle. During the checking, the contraband was found in their possession.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Theog Siddharth Sharma confirmed the report and said a case under section 21 and 29-61-85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1095 has been registered against the accused and further investigation is going on.
