Mandi: 3-day police remand for fraudster

An alleged fraudster was sent on three-day police remand by the local court here today. The accused had cheated a Mandi resident for Rs 1.5 lakh.

According to the police, victim Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Maseran village in Mandi district, had filed a complaint that he had been defrauded of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Someone called him presenting himself as a bank employee and asked the victim to share the information for update in bank account details. The fraudster withdrawn Rs 1.5 lakh from the account of the victim.

SP Shalini Agnihotri said, “The accused has been identified as Lalkumar Das, a resident of Jharkhand. He was residing at Palam village in Delhi. A police team arrested the accused from New Delhi.”
