30 new COVID-19 cases surface in Sirmaur

As many as 30 new COVID-19 cases surfaced in Sirmaur, taking the tally in the district to 649.

The district now has 172 active cases with 456 recoveries.

Sirmaur DC Dr RK Pruthi said 19 cases were reported last night, which include six members of a family from Purruwala in Paonta Sahib. They are the contacts of an already positive case.

The other cases include four from Valley Iron Steel unit, Paonta Sahib; one from Zeon Lifesciences, Paonta Sahib; a constable from Purruwala police station; a 50-year-old private doctor from Nageta and a 26-year-old wife of an employee of Mankind Pharma.

The remaining cases hail from various places in Paonta Sahib — Badripur, Devi Nagar and wards number 1 and 10 from Paonta Sahib.

Meanwhile, 11 people which tested positive today which include one from Paonta Sahib and 10 from Nahan sub-division — comprising five from United Biscuits factory, five from Gnosis Pharmaceuticals, one from Ruchira Papers and two primary contacts of an already positive cases from Nahan.
