31 new COVID-19 cases reported in Baddi

38 cases were detected positive on Friday, taking the tally to 69 in the past 24 hours

With 31 new COVID-19 cases in the industrial belt of Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh on Saturday morning, the tally of positive cases climbed to 503 in Solan district.

Solan became the first district to reach the 500-mark with the number of active cases surging to 342 this morning.

As many as 38 cases were detected positive on Friday, taking the tally to 69 in the past 24 hours.

Among these 69 who tested positive, 25 workers were from Wrigley India Private Limited industrial unit, eight from SSS Technoplast and 10 from Haripur Sandholi village. Apart from them, migrants and residents from other villages, including Riwalsar in Ramshehar, Sandholi, Malpur, Bhud and Gurumajra also tested positive for COVID-19.

A 56-year-old policeman from the office of the Baddi Superintendent also figured in the list.

There were seven women and 63 men in the age group of 7 to 65 years who had tested positive. The health officials shifted all patients to various COVID Care Centres across the state.
