330 candidates clear Agniveer physical fitness test

Around 330 candidates have cleared the physical fitness test for recruitment under the Agniveer scheme. A total of 830 candidates had participated in the Agniveer recruitment rally conducted in the last two days. Col BS Bhandari, Army Recruitment Officer, stated here this on Saturday.

On the first day, 360 candidates participated in the rally, while 130 managed to clear the physical test. As many as 470 candidates participated on the second day here on Saturday, while 200 of them cleared the test.

The Army Recruitment Officer said candidates from Jhanduta tehsil of Bilaspur district, Hamirpur and Badsar would participate in physical test on Sunday, while candidates from Dhatwal tehsil (Bijhari), Una and Amb would participate in the selection process on Monday.

Bhandari said 550 eligible candidates from Bharari tehsil, Namhol, Ghumarwin and Naina Devi of Bilaspur district, Bhoranj tehsil and Tauni Devi in Hamirpur district were called for physical test on Saturday.

The physical test includes 1,600-m race, pull-ups, long jump, high jump and zig-zag balance clearing. Physical measurement tests were also conducted for height, weight and chest measurement. Additionally, medical examination and documents of the candidates clearing the physical test were also being checked.

Bhandari noted that dope test was being conducted on successful candidates. The authorities would strictly deal with anyone found using endurance-increasing drugs, he asserted.
