392 BP monitors for Himachal police



Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur distributed blood pressure monitors, provided by the SBI, among the police personnel of the state. The CM said the police worked in varied environment conditions, thus it was vital to ensure their physical and mental fitness. Thakur said the bank had provided 392 blood pressure monitors, which would be provided to all police stations, police posts and police battalions. He said blood sugar monitoring machines and weighing machines would also be provided. tns

HPTU secures top rank

Hamirpur: The Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) secured the first rank in Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) implementation in the country. The TEQIP is a World Bank-sponsored programme that funds technical institutions. The HPTU received over Rs 16 crore under the project. The second rank was bagged by Dr Abdul Kalam Azad Technical University, Lucknow. oc
