Lieutenant Lovedeep Singh of Makroli village, Indora, has made his hometown proud by being commissioned as an officer in the Indian Army’s artillery. After a year of intensive training at the Indian Defence Services Officers Training Centre in Chennai, he officially joined the ranks yesterday.

A graduate in homeopathy and surgery from a university in Solan, Lovedeep Singh cleared the UPSC Central Defence Services examination in his second attempt. He then trained at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, before earning his commission.

Coming from a proud lineage of Indian Army personnel, Lovedeep is a third-generation officer. His father, Subedar Major Darshan Singh (retd) and his grandfather, Late Subedar Major Brahma Singh, both served in the Army. Inspired by their service and motivated by his mother, Snehlata, he was determined to carry forward the family’s legacy.
