Mandi, February 9
The police arrested four persons for possessing heroin and charas in two cases in Mandi district yesterday.
According to the police, Akash (27), and his mother Manju (50), both natives of Suhada mohalla under Sadar police station in Mandi, were arrested and 20.49 gram of heroin was seized from them.
Following a tip-off, the police laid a naka on the road at Bradhibir yesterday. The accused were travelling in a car (HP31E1210). The police arrested the accused under the NDPS Act and seized the contraband.
In another case, the police seized 13.9 gram of charas and 1.91 gram of heroin from two persons travelling in a car (CH01BK-6255) at Sarkaghaht in Mandi. The accused were identified as Mohit Kumar (30), a native of Saythi village, and Dinesh Kumar (32), a native of Sari village in Dharampur tehsil.
Mandi SP Sakshi Verma said that cases had been registered and an investigation was underway.
