Nurpur, February 8
The Nurpur police today arrested four persons for allegedly attacking Anil Kumar, Narinder and Rocky Mehra, all residents of nearby Sadwan village, with swords late last night. The medical examination of the injured was conducted in the Nurpur Civil Hospital. The accused identified as Sanjivan, a resident of Lakhnat, Kulbhushan of Pandrer, Rohit and Pradeep Rana, both from Luharpura village, were produced in a local court this evening that remanded them in police custody.
The accused reportedly had some old enmity with Anil, Narinder and Rocky. They allegedly had an altercation with the trio at the Sadwan market last evening and later attacked them with swords. The injured took refuge in the Sadwan police chowki to save themselves and also lodged a complaint but the accused carrying swords allegedly chased them. The accused also tried to run them over with their vehicle.
SP, Nurpur, Ashok Rattan said that an attempt to murder case under the IPC and the Arms Act had been registered against all four accused. He added that the police, after getting information, rushed to the spot and controlled the tense situation at Sadwan.
He said that the police had arrested Sanjivan and Kulbhushan around midnight while Rohit and Pradeep Rana were arrested this morning.
