42 awarded degrees at IIIT

Prof LM Patnaik, adjunct professor and senior scientist at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, said today that learning is a continuous process and the key to success.
He was addressing students during the second convocation of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una, at its transit camp on the NIT campus here. He said one should aspire for higher things in life and advised students to never stop learning.
As many as 42 B.Tech graduates — 25 from computer science and engineering and 17 from electronics and communication engineering — were awarded degrees.
Prof S Selvakumar, director, IIIT, said three memorandums of understanding were signed with the IIT, Ropar, IIT Mandi and the HPTU for the joint collaboration of faculty development programmes, joint researches, resource sharing and faculty exchange. Nikita Mittal from the computer science and engineering stream and Sahil Sharma from the electronics and communication engineering discipline were awarded gold medals.
