5-day placement drive begins at HP varsity

Placement Career and Guidance Cell, in collaboration with University Institute of Technology (UIT), Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, yesterday launched five-day placement drive-cum-workshop under PM USHA initiative.

The event kicked off with an inaugural session in which Dean Planning and Teachers Matter Prof Joginder Singh Dhiman was the chief guest and UIT Director Prof AJ Singh was the guest of honour. Placement In-charge Dr Ramesh Thakur, UIT Coordinator Dr Shyam Chand, Dr Parveen Sharma, Placement Officer Pradeep Suman, Placement Coordinators UIT and other dignitaries were also present during the inaugural session.

During his address, Prof Dhiman congratulated the UIT Director and Placement Cell for organising such workshops as these are need of the hour. In the technical session, Harjinder Singh of Jokta Academy introduced the session on general aptitude. In another session, Antriksh Thakur, Manager (T), NHAI., highlighted the career opportunities available in government, private, independent and academic sectors.
