Five kwathshalas, where ayurvedic decoctions — AYUSH ‘kadha’ and madhuyashti ‘kadha’ — known to boost immunity will be distributed, have been set up by the administration in five blocks of Sirmaur district today on National Doctor’s Day.

RK Pruthi, DC, Sirmaur, said, “In ayurveda, ‘kadha’ holds significance, as it has been used from time immemorial for prevention and treatment of diseases. ‘Kadha’ increases immunity and can be of great help during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

He said kwathshalas were set up as per the guidelines of the AYUSH Ministry. Financial assistance was provided to the ayurveda department to start kwathshalas in six administrative blocks of the district, of which five were started in Paonta Sahib, Rajgarh, Shillai, Naina Tikker and Renukaji today.
