Despite a ban on mining activities during the monsoon season, offenders have been indulging in the illegal activity in local rivulets and khuds with impunity.

A tractor-trolley got trapped in Dehar khud in Jawali subdivision this afternoon while extracting minerals (sand and gravel). As per information, the tractor driver, along with four labourers, entered the water body to extract minerals, but got trapped when water level rose suddenly.

They stopped the tractor in the middle of the river and stood on its body to save themselves from being swept away by strong currents of water.
