50-bed civil hospital okayed for Bhawarna
Palampur, July 23
The state government has cleared a 50-bed civil hospital project in Bhawarna to be built at a cost of Rs 24 crore. The first installment of Rs 10 crore has been released to the Public Works Department.
Vipin Singh Parmar, local MLA, who is also Speaker of the state Assembly, said the PWD had already floated tender for construction of main hospital building so that project could be completed as per schedule. He said the project is slated to be completed in one-and-a-half years.
He said the proposed five-storey hospital building would have general wards for 50 patients and private wards for 10 patients. On the ground floor, OPDs have been planned so that patients do not face any inconvenience. Provisions have been made for OPDs of medicines, ophthalmology, ENT, paediatrics and gynaecology.
Parmar thanked the Chief Minister for providing funds for the project. He said the new hospital would cater to healthcare needs of people, who had to go to Palampur or the Tanda Medical College for even petty ailments. — OC
