Spectators up to 50 per cent capacity of the Dharamsala international cricket stadium will be allowed to watch the forthcoming international T-20 cricket matches between India and Sri Lanka on February 26 and 27. The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) took the decision in a meeting with the district administration today.

Nipun Jindal, DC, Kangra, told The Tribune that the online sale of tickets for the forthcoming cricket matches would begin on the websites of the HPCA and the BCCI today evening. From February 23, the tickets would be sold over the counter at various places in Dharamsala, he added.

Jindal said that Dharamsala would be divided into various sectors to avoid crowding in view of the Covid protocols. “Every effort will be made to ensure that spectators entering the stadium follow the Covid protocols,” he added. A traffic management plan was also discussed with police officials and various sites were selected for the spectators to park their vehicles.

He said that the district administration was expecting about 12,000 spectators for the two T-20 matches to be held on weekend on February 26 and 27.

The Indian and Sri Lankan teams would arrive in Dharamsala on February 25. They would stay at Radission hotel. The players would not be allowed to move around in Dharamsala, as they would be in a bio bubble in view of the pandemic.
