As many as 500 people participated in a walkathon at the Mall Road to raise awareness on recognising brain stroke symptoms and to highlight the importance of timely medical intervention in saving lives.

The event was organised by Alchemist Ojas Hospital, Panchkula. Surinder Chauhan, Mayor, Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC), was the chief guest on the occasion and was accompanied by Deputy Mayor, Uma Kaushal, and Naresh Chauhan, media advisor to CM.

Dr Gourav Jain, senior consultant, neurology; Dr Prasant Maskara, senior consultant and brain and spine specialist; Dr Iqbal Singh, consultant, neurology; Dr Manish Budhiraja, associate director, department of neurosurgery, from the hospital shared various facts about brain stroke management and its treatment.

While highlighting the essential role of getting timely intervention and preventive care, Dr Jain said lifestyle modifications and regular check-ups could play a crucial role in combating brain stroke.
