The incident came to light after Paras Ram Shah, a jeweller from Narkanda, filed a complaint stating that on June 12, four women entered his shop posing as customers. While pretending to examine gold rings, they allegedly swapped nine gold rings with brass imitations and left without making any purchases. Suspicious of their actions, Shah informed the police, leading to their arrest on Friday.

Rampur SDPO Naresh Sharma confirmed the incident and said a case has been registered. During the investigation, it was also revealed that the same group was involved in a similar theft at Maa Hateswari Jewellers in Darbhanga, Bihar.
