The ‘Strengthening of Teaching, Learning, and Results for Students’ (STARS) programme, a collaborative effort of the Samagra Shiksha and Avanti Fellows, was launched in Shimla today.

Sixty students studying in various government schools in the state will be provided with free of cost JEE-NEET coaching under the programme. As part of this programme, an eight-day winter boot camp was kicked off in Shogi and Mashobra and will continue till February 18.

The students have been selected following a state-level exam organised by Avanti Fellows. The selected students have been named “STARS” in recognition of their achievement.

The programme is being conducted under the guidance of Dr Rajesh Sharma, director of Samagra Shiksha, Himachal Pradesh. The camp is being held at two different locations in Shimla. Students selected for JEE coaching will attend the camp at the Centre for Science Learning and Creativity in Shogi. Those selected for NEET will attend in Sameti, Mashobra.
