69 health institutions in Mandi get Kayakalp awards
A total of 69 health institutions in Mandi district have been awarded under the Kayakalp programme. Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan presided over a meeting of the District Quality Assurance Committee under the Kayakalp programme today. The meeting focused on the delivery of high-quality health services across the district’s health institutions.
The DC said under the Kayakalp programme, the district had shown a significant improvement, with the number of awarded health institutions increasing from six in 2016-17 to 69 in 2023-24. The district aims to exceed 100 award-winning institutions this year.
“Mandi district is currently leading the state in terms of awarded institutions under the Kayakalp programme. For the fiscal year 2023-24, approximately Rs 63.85 lakh in incentives have been awarded to various health centres. Notable achievements include a first-place award of Rs 25 lakh and an additional Rs 10 lakh for efficiency to the Civil Hospital, Sundernagar, in Category One, a third-place award for Civil Hospital, Sarkaghat, in Category Two, a first-place award for PHC, Pandol, in Category Three, and a first-place award for Health Wellness Center, Hart, in Category Four,” he said.
The meeting also reviewed the current status of national and state certifications for health centres, with Civil Hospital, Sundernagar, having state certification and applying for national certification. Additionally, two health centres have received national certification, and nine centres have received state certification in the health sub-center category. Thirteen public health facilities have been licenced for X-ray services under the AERB, with a target to include three more centers this fiscal year. The district aims to connect nine health institutions with mandatory laboratory facilities, a service already implemented in the Regional Hospital Mandi and Civil Hospitals Sundernagar and Sarkaghat.
Further, the meeting discussed the implementation of the ‘My Hospital’ system for evaluating service quality through state-level monitoring, with feedback collected via telephone from patients. Regional Hospital Mandi, Civil Hospital Sarkaghat, and Jogindernagar have already been integrated into this system.
