This marks a significant achievement, with five cadets from Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron, Kullu, being selected together — a record for the region.

The selection of four cadets from Vallabh Government College, Mandi, is also a historic first and a source of immense pride for the institution and the state.

Cadet Sergeant Tejaswini Singh, a Class X student from DAV Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, has been selected as the only cadet in the Best Cadet category (Junior Wing) from the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate.

“Cadet Corporal Diksha Kumari has been honoured with the prestigious role of Guard Commander for the All-India NCC Girls Guard Contingent. She performed this role with excellence during the visit of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar to National Republic Day Camp,” said Dr Chaman.

“Additionally, cadets Anshul and Himanshu from the NCC Air Squadron, Kullu, will also represent the directorate at the camp,” he said.

“Between 2018 and 2025, over 12 cadets from the NCC Air Wing, Mandi, have participated in NRDC. Additionally, cadets from the wing have represented India in international youth exchange programmes in countries like Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Russia and Vietnam,” Dr Chaman said.

The Commanding Officer of Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron NCC, Wing Commander Kunal Sharma; Flying Officer Dr Chaman; Flying Officer Nishchal Sharma; Vallabh Government College, Mandi, Principal Surina Sharma; DAV Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, principal Kuldeep Guleria; and Caretaker Officers Dr Balveer Singh, Kavita and Suman Pandit extended their best wishes to the cadets for their participation in the National Republic Day Camp in Delhi.
