Established in 1952, when Kangra was part of Punjab, the office is in a dilapidated condition.

MLA Kewal Singh Pathania performed puja for the construction of this building, whose foundation stone was laid in December 2023, by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

Underlining the importance of this complex, Pathania expressed shock that no representative prior to him ever thought of it.

“Shahpur Assembly segment was fortunate to get the position of Assembly Speaker, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and a place in the Cabinet five times. All former MLAs and ministers held official and public meetings in this office, but they never thought of this dilapidated building,” said
