Hamipur, June 20
Eleven persons, including two women, tested positive for coronavirus in Hamirpur district today. Eight of them had returned from Delhi while the other three are among the primary contacts of a person who had tested positive earlier. Eight of them were in institutional quarantine while three were in home quarantine.
Eight of 11 Covid-positive persons are from Sujanpur, two from Galore and one from Taunidevi. The total number of Covid cases in the district stands at 166, including 56 active cases.
Airport employee infected in Kullu
A 26-year-old youth tested positive for Covid-19 in Bhuntar subdivision of Kullu district on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Richa Verma said that the infected person was an employee of the Kullu airport. He had returned from Delhi on June 12 and was in institutional quarantine. She said that he had not come in contact of other people. There are now five Covid cases in the district.
Nalagarh cop tests positive
A 52-year-old policeman, who was working as a nodal officer in a Nalagarh police station, tested positive for coronavirus, taking the tally in Solan district to 74. Baddi SP Rohit Malpani said that the policeman had not attended any field duty for the last two weeks and had minimum contact with people. His sample for testing was taken on June 18. He was shifted to ESIC Covid hospital at Katha. His contact tracing had been started and several policemen were likely to be tested for Covid.
