8 thrashed at Barot

Mandi, April 12

Eight Kashmiri workers were allegedly assaulted by three assailants at Barot last evening. They were engaged in a hydropower project in the area.

According to the police, one of the victims Nazir Ahmad lodged a complaint that he along with other workers had been staying at Barot since December 19 and working with contractor Gaurav for laying electricity transmission lines.

“On Saturday evening, three unknown assailants came in a Bolero jeep and started thrashing us,” he alleged. TNS
