Mandi, July 30

Eight persons had a narrow escape as a machine caught fire inside Siund powerhouse of Parbati Hydro Project stage-II in Kullu district in the wee hours on Thursday.

The project is operated by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited.

At the time of the incident, eight workers, including two engineers, were working inside the powerhouse.

While six persons were rescued immediately, the engineers were taken out after some time and were provided first aid.
