8,000 km, 13 countries: 4 German boys’ cycle journey to Dharamsala

Dharamsala, August 21

Four German boys, all in their teens, reached Dharamsala yesterday evening after crossing 13 countries on their bicycles, starting from Germany, with India being the 14th and the last in line.

High school passouts, the dare-devils had to seek visas from Iran, Pakistan and India for the smooth completion of their voyage.

Nova, Elsey, Iliaz and Jubail, the four cyclists, entered India through the Wagah Border at Amritsar.

The team started the journey in March, and has traversed 8,000 km so far.

From Dharamsala, they plan to go to Delhi. Interacting with the media and the people outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office, they were all praise for India. The young Germans have plans of visiting the Shaktipeeths, and other places of tourist interest.

From Delhi, they will board a flight back to Germany after six long months. The youngsters said India was the best country, with rich folk traditions and food.
