Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania has said the present Congress government developed 850 institutions as centres of excellence to ensure quality and inclusive education for students in the state.
Attending the annual function of GHS, Prei, as the chief guest on Monday, he said a historic decision had been taken to fill 15,000 posts of academic and non-academic staff.
As many as 3,200 teacher posts had been filled batch-wise, while over 2,800 were are being filled through the State Selection Commission, Pathania added.
He said approval had been given to fill 700 posts of PGT teachers and 6200 posts of NTT during the Cabinet meeting, the recruitment process of which would start soon.
To ensure inclusive education, a ban has been imposed on transfer of teachers in the middle of academic session, he said. The government had launched the Dr YS Parmar Student Loan Scheme for the benefit of the students, he noted.
Under the scheme, students were being provided loans of up to Rs 20 lakh for higher education at a nominal interest rate of just 1 per cent.
