Congress rebel Rajinder Rana today dubbed Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as “liar number one”. He said, “Neither Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh had told Sukhu that he was going to meet the Congress rebels at Panchkula nor the Chief Minister had sent him.”

Rana, in an exclusive interview with PTI, alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to twist facts and Vikramaditya Singh, who met them on his way to New Delhi, did not ask them to come back or patch up. “Vikramaditya has his own grievances with the government, which failed to provide land for the installation of a statue of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and interfered in his functioning,” he said.

Sukhu had said yesterday that Vikramaditya had told him that some Congress rebels approached him and they wished to come back, following which he told the PWD Minister to talk to them.

Rana said, “More MLAs are coming and the Congress government is going. Congress MLAs are feeling suffocated by the dictatorial style of functioning of the Chief Minister, who has put Himachal on the back gear. Besides the six Congress and three Independent MLAs, who had cross-voted in favour of the BJP in the Rajya Sabha poll, nine more Congress MLAs are in touch with us.”

He added, “Friends of the CM are running the government while elected representatives, especially ministers, are feeling suffocated and humiliated.” Rana, however, ruled out any possibility of returning to the Congress. He said, “After the observers said that Sukhvinder Sukhu would continue as the CM, there was no scope of compromise.”
