In a bid to instil confidence in students to accept future challenges and gain a sense of self-efficacy, Government Arya College of Nurpur organised a day-long series of vibrant activities yesterday.

In the first event, the college’s library committee organised a book fair to showcase a diverse collection of books spanning various disciplines and genres. Students showed keen interest in exploring the vast selection and purchased books that suited their interests and academic needs. The fair aimed to promote a reading habit and provide resources for academic and personal growth.

A special yoga session was conducted for girl students by a trained yoga instructor, Rajat Kumar. He sensitised the students to the significance of yoga practices for mental and physical health.

The career counselling cell of the college organised an interactive session led by Prof Sudhir from Jaypee University, Vaknaghat (Solan). He focused on equipping students with the latest strategies for preparing for competitive examinations. He briefed students on examination patterns, relevant study materials and effective time management to empower them to crack competitive examinations with confidence and a well-defined strategy. He also addressed students’ queries and concerns regarding career options and exam-specific preparation.

As part of the series of activities, a skill development workshop on microbiological techniques was also organised by the skill development cell of the college. This hands-on workshop provided students with a foundational understanding of microorganisms, their in-depth study and diverse applications.

The students actively engaged in various microbiological experiments and gained practical knowledge and experience.

College Principal Dr Anil Kumar, while expressing satisfaction with the success of the day-long series of vibrant activities on the college campus, reiterated the institution’s commitment to organizing such programmes in the future, ensuring the holistic development of students.
