ABVP to voice students’ issues by launching mass movement

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will outline its action plan to launch a mass movement across the state to raise various student-related issues, said ABVP’s state president Akash Negi here today.
Addressing a press conference, Negi said the ABVP’s state executive meeting took place on August 25, which was held in Dehra, Kangra. “As many as 102 activists from across the state participated in the meeting that is held twice a year.
He said during the meeting, a comprehensive plan for the upcoming year was devised and various state-level issues were discussed.
“Issues like the state government not appointing a permanent Vice-Chancellor for the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), irregularities in examination results, restoration of Student’s Central Examination (SCA), lack of basic facilities in various educational institutions, the state government’s plan to hand over 120-hectare land of agriculture university for tourism village as well as anti-student policies of the state government we discussed during the meeting,” said Negi.
“At first, memorandums will be sent to Education Minister Rohit Thakur through the principals of various educational institutions. Following this, protests and signature campaigns will be organised by all the units,” he said.
“If necessary, symbolic hunger strikes will be conducted to expedite the government’s decision-making. Additionally, large-scale demonstrations will be held at the district level,” he said.
