Oakwood School organised its annual prize distribution function ‘Orion2025’ with great fervour on Monday. The theme for this year’s celebration was ‘Navras’. Students presented dances and short plays on the nine rasas such as Shringar Ras, Hasya Ras, Karuna Ras, Raudra Ras, Veer Ras, Bhayanak Ras, Vibhatsa Ras, Adbhut Ras and Shanta Ras, as described in the poetics.
Mandi Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan was the chief guest at the event. He honoured bright students with mementos. He said it was a matter of pride that Oakwood School was providing CISCE curriculum education to the children of the district. Encouraging children to inculcate discipline and persistence, he urged them to make an aim and work hard for it every day without fail. He said the district administration had started its own library for children and that gradually more were being opened at all places.
In the ‘Best Students’ category for the 2024-25 academic session, Priyanshi (Class II-A); Jaishnavi (Class II-B); Sanaya (Class III); Aadiva Rajput (Class IV); Kartisha (Class V); Dikshita (Class VI); Rishabh Karwan (Class VII); Devanshi Thakur (Class VIII), Devshree (Class IX); and Abhay (Class X); were awarded.
Warrior House bagged the first place in Kabaddi; Curator House won second place and Pioneer House came third. Warrior House was declared the ‘Best House’.
Students who stood first, second and third in the 100, 120, 160, and 200-m races were also honoured. Principal Vijay Thakur, director Prakriti Thakur and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
