Act against those trying to fuel communal tension in state, says BJP chief Bindal
State BJP president Rajeev Bindal today demanded that the government should take prompt action against people from outside the state who are trying to fuel communal tension by making inflammatory statements.
Responding to statements by leaders of AIMIM regarding the illegal mosque in Sanjauli, Bindal said the government must act promptly and not let the issue linger on. “Protests were held by the public against the demographic changes that are taking place in Shimla, Chopal or and other places in the state. In this backdrop, the government must act swiftly as it is a very sensitive issue which threatens to spoil communal harmony,” said Bindal. If the matter keeps lingering, there is bound to be animosity and hatred among communities, he added.
While stressing the need for proper verification and identification of persons coming from outside to work in Himachal, he said provocative statements by outsiders will only flare up sentiments of locals so the government must act fast.
Bindal also condemned registration of police cases against the people who protested, terming it a reflection of the larger public sentiment. “Registering of cases against the protestors on this issue is totally wrong. Hindu outfits have complete freedom to stage their protest over the illegal construction of mosques,” he asserted.
“The Congress regime is working contrary to the promises made at the time of the Assembly elections. There has been raise in power and water tariff, both for domestic and commercial users,” he said. Congress had promised 300 units of free power but, on the contrary, even 125 units of free power given by our BJP regime has been withdrawn, he rued.
He said the Congress regime has not given anything to the people but withdrew the free water supply in rural areas given by the previous BJP regime. “This is just the beginning as this amount is likely to go up with each tap connection, burdening the common man further,” Bindal said.
He said power slab for industry as well as domestic users has been hiked. “No section of society has been spared as prices of petrol, diesel, cement, subsidised ration and bus fares too have been increased.
