Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today directed officers to ensure strict adherence to social distancing by people and take stern action against offenders. He stated this while presiding over a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners, SPs, Chief Medial Officers and other officers of the state through video-conferencing from here.

He said that there had been a sharp increase in the number of Covid patients, which was being attributed to large gatherings at social functions such as marriages, and religious and cultural functions. He added that field officers in the districts should ensure the SOPs regarding the limit of maximum 50 persons at social gatherings such as marriages were followed strictly. “All DCs must take a daily report regarding such celebrations in the state, besides motivating people to ensure not to invite more than 50 persons to functions,” he said. — TNS
