The state government has entered into an agreement with the Principals Academy, Singapore, for the training of teachers in modern teaching methods, leadership skills and innovative pedagogical practices in that country. The agreement was signed in Singapore in the presence of Education Minister Rohit Thakur along with Principals Academy’s Chairman and CEO Ezra Ng and other officials.

As per the agreement, teachers from the state will receive world-class training without adding any financial burden on the state exchequer. “Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate in several key areas, including organising training programmes for principals, administrators and teachers on innovative teaching methodologies, leadership skills and school management,” said a Samagra Shiksha spokesperson. Besides, workshops, seminars and exchange programmes would be conducted to further enhance teachers’ knowledge. Customised online and offline training modules would be developed to cater to the specific needs of Himachal’s educators, enabling them to understand and adopt the best international teaching practices, he added.

The spokesperson said, "Besides, specially developed training materials and teaching methodologies will be implemented to ensure that teachers are trained in accordance with modern educational systems. Regular assessments and evaluations will be done to measure the effectiveness of the training programmes, ensuring continuous improvement. Furthermore, the potential for certification programmes for teachers will also be explored so that they receive formal recognition for their skill development.”

A notable aspect of this agreement was that not only teachers from the state would travel to Singapore, but also experienced educators and experts from Singapore would visit Himachal. “They will evaluate the teaching processes in local schools and provide support in training teachers, according to local needs. It will ensure that international expertise reaches state’s schools and promotes innovation in the field of education," said the spokesperson.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur said, "Singapore will now offer valuable contributions to the field of education in Himachal. The insights, expertise and guidance received from Singapore will serve as a source of inspiration for our teachers and students. The knowledge imparted by Singapore to our educators will not only bring about changes in our teaching techniques but will also foster a sense of leadership among teachers and pave the way for new directions in classroom innovation.”
