Member of Parliament Sanjana Jatav, appointed observer by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for the selection of district president in Shimla, met party leaders and workers at the Congress headquarters on Thursday.
Jatav said she would visit different parts of the district over the next few days to gather feedback from leaders and workers. “Following these meetings, a panel of six names will be prepared and sent to the party high command, which will take the final decision,” she said. Ten applicants submitted their nominations for the post.
Addressing mediapersons, Jatav, said the AICC’s effort to gather feedback from the ground is aimed at strengthening the party nationally. She added she would hold both joint and individual meetings with party leaders, as well as officials of frontal organisations and departments, regarding the selection of the district president.
