The 1996 batch IPS officer, Ajay Kumar Yadav, who has returned from Central deputation, has been appointed as the Additional Director General of Police (Crime) in Shimla. In addition to his new role, he will also oversee litigation and conviction issues within the department and will head the Special Task Force, as per the notification issued on 15th March 15.

The government today issued transfer and posting orders of four IPS officers. As per the orders, 1999-batch IPS Gyaneshwar Singh, who is also returning from Central deputation, has been assigned the post of Additional Director General of Police (CID), Shimla, thus relieving Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha of the additional charge as Director General of the CID.

The 2000-batch IPS Jai Prakash Singh, who was promoted to the rank of ADGP, has been appointed as ADGP (Armed Police & Training) in Shimla. The 2011 batch IPS Anjum Ara, who was promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police, has been posted as DIG (Southern Range), Shimla, filling the vacancy created by the post of Inspector General of Police (Southern Range).
