The state’s Meteorological Department has issued a warning of low to moderate flashfloods at few watersheds and neighbourhoods of Chamba, Kangra, Shimla, Sirmaur and Solan districts during the next 24 hours.

The department has also issued a yellow warning of heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in 10 districts for September 2 with the exception of Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places over the state in the past 24 hours. In Shimla, traffic movement on the Chakkar road was disrupted for a few hours due to a landslide. However, no casualties were reported in the incident and the road was cleared for traffic.

The maximum temperature in Shimla was 21.8°C, Dharamsala (25°C), Manali (21.1°C), Dalhousie (17.6°C), Solan (26.5°C), Kangra (26.4°C), Mandi (27.4°C), Bilaspur (30°C), Chamba (27.3°C), Nahan (27.4°C), Sundernagar (27.2°C), Bhuntar (25.5°C) and Kalpa (20°C).

At 35.4°C, Una was the hottest place while Kukumseri in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest at 9.5°C.
