To bring transparency in its functioning, the HP Board of School Education (HPBSE) has proposed that the answer-sheets of all students appearing in the Class X examination can be uploaded after the declaration of the final results in the current academic session. Initially, it will be launched as a pilot project for one district, said Rajesh Sharma, Chairman of the board, while addressing mediapersons here last evening.

Sharma said that the board would also introduce a question paper series in the annual board examination on the pattern of the UPSC exam. “Under this pattern, four series (A, B, C, D) of papers carrying same questions but in a jumbled manner will be introduced. This pattern will check academic misconduct and cheating in the examination centres,” he added.

He said that the board would keep a video recording of the centres for one year as a measure to bring transparency in the examinations. He added that in the future, the examinees, who wanted to get their answer-sheets reevaluated, could apply online on the board’s website. “To inculcate human and cultural values, the board has decided to introduce a non-academic booklet for the students of Class IX to Class XII, reflecting the ideology of first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in his book “Education for Children”.

The board Chairman, who is also the Congress in-charge of the Nurpur assembly constituency, said that a special door-to-door campaign would be launched with the help of former Nurpur MLA Ajay Mahajan for strengthening the Congress at the grass-roots level and disseminate information about the welfare schemes of the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government to people. Former MLA Ajay Mahajan was also present.
