A review meeting regarding the diarrhoea control campaign was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal. The DC said a district-wide campaign will be conducted from May 1 to June 30. During this period, oral rehydration solution (ORS) packets and zinc tablets will be distributed to 53,022 infants and children under the age of five.

While reviewing the action plan prepared by the Health Department, Repaswal issued necessary guidelines to the departmental officers. Emphasising the importance of community involvement, he directed panchayati raj institutions to take active steps to raise awareness at the grassroots level.

He further instructed the District Programme Officer, Child Development, to ensure the active participation of all Anganwadi workers during the campaign. To ensure the quality of drinking water, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of the Jal Shakti Department to take necessary measures. Additionally, he instructed the Deputy Directors of Higher and Primary Education to ensure the cleanliness of water storage tanks in all educational institutions.

District Programme Officer for Health, Dr Harit Puri, briefed the participants about the campaign activities. Among those present were District Development Officer Omprakash Thakur, District Programme Officer Dr Karan Hiteshi, Assistant Engineer of Jal Shakti Department Gaurav Kumar, paediatric specialist Dr Vijay Yadav from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Block Medical Officer Dr HP Singh, and other departmental officials.
