Anti-graft measures, accountability gave boost to India’s economy: Bilaspur MLA

Bilaspur MLA Trilok Jamwal emphasised that the Modi government’s commitment to accountability, transparency and anti-corruption measures has propelled India's economy from 11th place in 2014 to 4th in 2025. Speaking at a district-level event marking 11 years of service, good governance and welfare initiatives, Jamwal credited flagship programs like Make in India and Digital India for fostering investment and innovation.

Jamwal also noted that over Rs 34 lakh crore has been disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), significantly reducing corruption.

The MLA praised the government’s focus on poverty alleviation and youth development, encapsulated in Modi’s GYAN initiative—where G stands for ‘Gareeb’ (poor), Y for ‘Youth’, A for ‘Annadata’ (farmers), and N for ‘Nari Shakti’ (women empowerment). He said that 40 per cent of people have been uplifted from Below Poverty Line. He pointed to UPI's transformative impact on digital transactions and reaffirmed India’s steady march toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Discussing national security, Jamwal asserted that India has given strong responses to terror attacks, including those at Uri, Pulwama and Pahalgam. He also highlighted Home Minister Amit Shah’s pledge to make India free of Naxal insurgency by next year, citing ongoing rapid action against Naxalites. He stressed on India’s growing global credibility and influence on international platforms.

Former Minister Govind Singh Thakur lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that the past 11 years of governance have strengthened India's global standing. He declared, “The country takes pride in Modi’s leadership, and the work done in service, governance, and welfare during his era will be inscribed in golden letters in history.” Thakur emphasised the public welfare programs spearheaded by the Central government.

Meanwhile, Kullu District BJP president Amit Sood outlined upcoming party programs in the district, urging every party worker to participate with enthusiasm.
