Anti-ragging selfie point inagurated
Shimla, August 27
In order to spread awareness against ragging, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Vice Chancellor Satya Prakash Bansal, along with Prof Manoj Dixit, Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, inaugurated a selfie point on the campus today.
The event was attended by other guests, including Prof Anil Manga and Prof Goyal from Panjab University, Prof Baba from Central University, Dharamsala, and Prof Rajindra Verma, Pro Vice-Chancellor of HPU.
The Dean of Student Welfare (DSW), Dr Mamta Mokta, said, “In compliance with the directives issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), HPU is actively engaging in various activities to curb ragging on the campus. As part of these efforts, the university has inaugurated a new selfie point aimed at promoting a positive environment.”
The DSW said to combat ragging, HPU organised a series of programmes across its various departments. The Department of Political Science held a painting competition, the Department of Public Administration staged a play and the Sanskrit Department conducted a rally to raise awareness.
“This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to fostering a safe and supportive educational environment,” added the DSW.
