BMO Kavita Thakur, the SHO and other enforcement team members actively participated in the initiative. They conducted a thorough inspection at the main bazaar of Rait to ensure strict adherence to the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).
During the drive, officials focused on key COTPA provisions, including the prohibition on selling cigarettes and other tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions. The team also checked the mandatory display of health warnings and pack warnings at the points of sale. Several violations were detected and immediate action was taken against offenders, reinforcing the district administration’s commitment to protecting young people from tobacco exposure. The BMO urged people to support the mission.
