Anurag flags off inaugural Una-Haridwar train
Una, March 4
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur today flagged off the inaugural run of the Una-Haridwar passenger train from the Una railway station. The train was earlier running between Una and Saharanpur and was extended to Haridwar from today.
Spiritual leaders from Una district were also invited during the flagging off ceremony to the holy city of Haridwar. Speaking on the occasion, Anurag said a direct train to Haridwar had been one of the major demands of the people of the region, which has now been fulfilled. He said in the coming days, an express train service to the holy cities of Mathura and Ujjain would also start from Una.
Earlier, while addressing a ‘Tridev’ conclave of party workers at Saloh village in Haroli Assembly segment, Anurag said the divide within the Congress legislators in the state was evident all over the country as many Congress leaders were leaving the party, adding that the BJP had no role in the instability of the Congress government here. He charged that the Congress government in the state had not fulfilled its pre-poll ‘guarantees’ to the people of the state.
Later, the Union minister flagged off a bike rally from ‘Deepkamal’, the BJP office in Una. The rally was organised with the theme ‘say no to drugs’. He called upon the youth to follow all safety norms while driving, especially wearing helmets while riding a two-wheeler.
The minister also dedicated a new post office building at Chowki Maniar village in Amb subdivision to the public. BJP district president Balbir Chaudhary and Una MLA Satpal Singh Satti accompanied the Union minister.
