Anurag for swift, quality execution of district development projects
Stresses timely completion of highways, welfare schemes, solar initiatives
The district authorities must ensure speedy execution of development works under the Centrally-sponsored programmes, said Anurag Thakur, Hamirpur MP, while chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) on Thursday. He also reviewed the progress of various development projects and welfare schemes being implemented across the district.
Anurag said that quality must be maintained in all development works, including national highways, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana roads and the construction of Government Medical College. He directed the departments concerned to ensure the Shimla-Matour four-lane highway, Hamirpur Bypass and Hamirpur-Awahdevi-Mandi National Highway projects were completed within the deadlines set by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
He said the PM Surya Ghar Yojana should be widely promoted to urge more households to install rooftop solar plants with government subsidies.
Reviewing works under the MP Local Area Development Fund (MPLADS), Thakur instructed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to prioritise the completion of pending projects. He asked officials to inform his office if any hurdles arise and to provide feedback on any policy or procedural amendments required at the Central level.
Thakur stressed linking Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with credit schemes, digitising revenue records and improving traffic management through better coordination between the Licensing Authority and the Police Department.
He said all departments must work in close coordination to ensure the timely, transparent and high-quality execution of development projects and welfare initiatives for the benefit of the district’s residents.
MLAs Inder Dutt Lakhanpal and Ashish Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh, Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur, Zila Parishad Chairperson Babli Devi and heads of all government departments were also present at the meeting.
