UNA, FEBRUARY 28
Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur today laid the foundation stone of the Una district BJP office building in Lalsingi village on the outskirts of the city. He was accompanied by BJP state in-charge for party affairs Avinash Rai Khanna, State Finance Commission chairman Satpal Singh ‘Satti’, HIMUDA vice-chairman Parveen Sharma and HPSIDC vice-chairman Ram Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Anurag said permanent party offices were being constructed in every district to bring better management of organisational matters and to establish greater communication between the leaders, workers and the public. He said the Una office would be dedicated to the party workers within 15 months.
Speaking on the recent Union Budget, Anurag Thakur said despite financial constraints due to the pandemic, the Union Government had presented a budget with no new taxes.
The minister said a provision of Rs 35,000 crore had been made in the budget to provide Covid vaccines to the public. Dismissing the Opposition charges of inflation, he said the rates of pulses had crossed Rs 160 per kg during the UPA regime. He contended that the rates of essential items were well within the reach of the common man.
