Anurag Thakur: Himachal Congress MLAs had lost faith in own govt
New Delhi, February 28
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur today said that Congress MLAs had lost faith in their own government in Himachal as governance and development had come to a halt in the past 14-month rule of Sukhvinder Sukhu-led Congress government.
“Congress MLAs in Himachal have lost faith in their own government. The reason is clear: false promises, false guarantees, mutual distrust, difference between words and actions and a weak and poor leadership. The promised Rs 1,500 per month pension to women was never given. The Congress MLAs were finding it difficult to show their face to people,” said Anurag, a four-term MP from Hamirpur.
He said that the Congress MLAs cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha election to save embarrassment of going out in public. “Now, the crisis has deepened. In Himachal, the Congress looks scattered, broken and it itself is responsible for the precarious situation,” he added.
