In a bid to give a rousing welcome to Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur — who will arrive tomorrow for his five-day ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatra’ — party leaders took stock of the preparedness here today.

Being the party’s national-level programme, in which newly inducted ministers will be reaching out to the public, the yatra’s convenor and party’s vice-president Sanjeev Katwal chaired a meeting of the leaders here today.

Party workers from Sirmaur district will welcome him at Himachal Bhawan in Chandigarh tomorrow and he will be brought here in a rath. He will be welcomed at Parwanoo, Kumarhatti, Kumarhatti, Solan, Kandaghat, Soghi and later at Peterhoff at Shimla.

Anurag Thakur will also visit the party’s Shimla office at Deepkamal on August 20. He will then proceed to Arki subdivision and later to Bilaspur, Mandi, Kangra, Hamirpur and Una districts.

Given the geographical conditions of the state, the yatra has been extended to five days as against three days in other states.
