Indian Army’s motorcycle expedition concluded at Manali today. On this occasion, Brig Sandeep S Sharda, SM, VSM, Commander Pathankot Sub Area, and Lt General Bhupinder Singh Thakur, PVSM AVSM, (retd), ex-Vice Chief of Army Staff addressed the veterans of Lahaul Spiti and Chamba district in Manali.

Brig Sandeep S Sharda spoke about various schemes which Indian Army has launched for its veterans.

The eight-day motorcycle expedition of Rising Star Sub Area had started on June 9 from Yol in Kangra and covered 1,092 km of treacherous mountain tracks through Sach Pass, Pangi, Keylong, Baralach La and Spiti Valley.

The expedition was launched by 21 Sub Area on completion of 60 years of its raising. Lt General Bhupinder Singh Thakur congratulated all ranks of 21 Sub Area on this occasion. He hailed the achievements of 21 Sub Area during various military operations in its glorious history, including 1965 and 1971 wars, Operation Vijay, the recent Operation Zafran and Snow Leopard wherein the logistic support provided by 21 Sub Area to fighting formations was commendable.
