Asha workers in Kangra district are yet to receive their wages for the past four months, creating severe financial hardships for the women workers. Expressing frustration over the state government’s perceived inaction, the Asha Workers Union, Kangra, convened a meeting in Dharamsala under the chairmanship of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh state president Madan Rana, who criticised the government for delaying timely payments.
The union leaders, along with women workers, submitted a memorandum to the government through the district administration. The union further announced that if salaries are not disbursed by the end of September, Asha workers will cease work from the first week of October, holding the state government fully responsible for the disruption.
