Assam donates Rs 5 crore to CM disaster relief fund

The Assam Government has made a contribution of Rs 5 crore towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund in view of the rain disaster in Himachal. Prasanta Phukan, Minister for Power, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship in the Assam Government, presented a cheque for Rs 5 crore to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in New Delhi today. The contribution had been made towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund to help disaster-affected families, which had suffered due to heavy rain during the current monsoon season.

Besides, Rahul Bagga, Senior Manager (Legal and Corporate Affairs and Lead India Growth), Hindustan Unilever Limited, also presented a cheque for Rs 50 lakh towards the Chief Minister Aapada Rahat Kosh in New Delhi.

Sukhu thanked the Assam Government and Bagga for this noble gesture and said that it was a matter of great satisfaction that various state governments, philanthropists, organisations and individuals were liberally donating towards the relief fund, which would go a long way in providing prompt assistance to the affected families.
