An Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya will be constructed on 35 bighas at Jangal Bihali in the Sainj valley in Banjar subdivision of Kullu district. The Himachal Pradesh Education Department yesterday identified the land for the school building in this remote region to provide better educational facilities to students in the valley.
Deputy Director of HP Elementary Education at Kullu Sita Ram Bansal told The Tribune that the department yesterday conducted a joint survey along with Banjar SDM Khem Raj and officials of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) to identify land for the construction of the school building in the Sainj valley.
“We found a chunk of 35 bighas at Jangal Bihali in the Sainj valley, which is in the possession of the HPPCL. The HPPCL has given its consent to transfer the land to the Education Department,” he added.
“Now, we are preparing documents for the transfer of land from the HPPCL to the Education Department. The documents will be submitted to the HPPCL authorities in Shimla within next 10 days. As soon as the land is transferred, the Education Department will start the process for the construction of the school building in stipulated time,” Bansal said.
On July 13, the state government had issued revised guidelines for the construction of Atal Adarsh Vidyalayas in all Assembly segments to bring out the best of talent. The admission process for Class VI onwards would be started and it would be a residential school. The people of the Sainj valley are elated at the government decision.
